Oftentimes I hear people talking about they’re scrolling through the social media feed and they see a video of some chiropractor who is doing an adjustment, and they always tell me one of three things pop up in their mind.
1. I think I need that.
2. How the heck is cracking my back going to help with something like migraines or TMJ?
3. I ain’t never going in there, because that looks dangerous.
I want to answer mainly that third question, because a lot of people are scared of that popping noise.
Not all chiropractors do the same type of adjustment.
What’s really important is that you find a chiropractor that does a proper work up and exam. We don’t begin any type of treatment with someone until we go through that first exam.
We do our specialized nervous system testing, and we take a very specific set of X-rays of the upper neck to see what’s going on up there.
I’ve taken hundreds of additional hours of advanced training in the upper neck to make sure that you’re going to be safe when you come into our office.
When it comes to those little pops or cracks that you hear in the videos, it’s no different from when you’re cracking your knuckles.
In our office, we see a wide range of patients. We take care of women who are pregnant, people who are post-accident or even post-surgery. We also take care of people that are just looking for optimal performance.
